Install the new battery, making sure that the + symbol is facing downwards. Replace the cover by pressing the two sections together.

Transponder Chip

The transponder chip in the key fob connects to your vehicle's ECU and disables the standard immobilizer system, allowing the car to start. Although this minimizes the chance that someone else's keys could be used to start your car, it's not foolproof. Criminals have found ways to get around this technology.
